sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install remastersys

Wait for it....

now some setup before we use remastersys

sudo remastersys clean
sudo apt-get autoremove

Now reboot your computer...

Using Remastersys

To create a personal live/install cd(<700MB)/dvd(>700MB<4.7GB)

Open terminal mode.. K Menu > System > Konsole

sudo remastersys clean
sudo apt-get autoremove

To make an iso of your custom distro that you can use to make a live/install cd/dvd...

sudo remastersys backup custom.iso

custom.iso(change_to_what_you_wish.iso) this is the way i use remastersys most of the time... I use something like kubuntu-amd64-desktop-8.04.2-linux-2.6.24-23-032209.iso

Note: This iso contains all your personal information including passwords and requires your current password to access the live/install cd/dvd when burned...

Wait for it....

To create your own distro live/install cd(<700MB)/dvd(>700MB<4.7GB)

Open terminal mode.. K Menu > System > Konsole

sudo remastersys clean
sudo apt-get autoremove

First we create the file system...

sudo remastersys dist cdfs

Wait for it....

Next we create a distributable iso...

sudo remastersys dist iso custom.iso

custom.iso(change_to_what_you_wish.iso)

DO NOT USE sudo remastersys clean TILL YOU MOVE YOUR NEWLY CREATED custom.iso FILE TO ANOTHER FOLDER FOR SAFE KEEPING!!!

Note: This iso contains no personal information or passwords.. the live/install cd/dvd when burned can be used by anyone just like the original live/install cds... (it will contain all of the programs you have installed)

Wait for it....

well now ya are askin yourself... Where the hell is this custom.iso file i just created, and self says hhhuuuuuhhh?:

Click... System Menu (next to K Menu lower left hand corner of desktop)
Click... Home
Click... Root
Click... Home
Click... remastersys
Click... remastersys
And WaaaaLaaa there you have it custom.iso
To burn your custom live/install cd/dvd goto K Menu > multimedia > k3b
of course you could click the custom.iso file and it will automatically open k3b
